On course with HSE
At the foundation of our business strategy is an ongoing commitment to adhere to the highest standards in the area of health, safety and environmental performance. Conducting oil and gas operations with respect and care for people and preserving and protecting our surroundings are basic values of our company.
In 2010, Endeavour Energy UK was awarded accreditation for both the environmental and health & safety management of its oil and gas exploration, project development, production and suspension/decommissioning activities on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf and associated onshore activities. The relevant international standards are ISO 14001 for environmental management systems and OHSAS 18001 for health and safety management systems. In 2013, Endeavour was recertified for the ISO 14001 environmental and OHSAS 180001 health and safety management systems.
These certifications are independent verification that Endeavour operates in an environmentally responsible manner and manages health and safety in compliance with the law and relevant industry standards. These certifications confirm that the company has identified and assessed the health and safety risks and environmental impacts of its operations and has a management system in place to manage those risks and impacts. It also attests that Endeavour aims to achieve a reasonably continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Following the submission of the environmental statement to the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the company was notified in October that the UK government was satisfied that there would be no significant impact on the environment from the Rochelle Field Development. DECC informed the company it has no objections, on environmental grounds to the project.
Also during the same month, Endeavour Energy UK Ltd. was awarded the Bronze Healthy Working Lives Award, by the National Health Service in Scotland in recognition for the promotion of health, safety and well being in the workplace.
